Bespoke Wedding Accessories & Gifts for William and Andrea
Kerri O'Brien
When it comes to weddings, it’s the small, personal details that make the biggest impact. I had the pleasure of working with William and Andrea to create bespoke accessories and gifts that added that perfect finishing touch to their special day.
The Vision: Personal Touches that Stand Out
William and Andrea wanted accessories that didn’t just look good but also felt personal. The idea was to reflect their style and wedding colours in a subtle, cohesive way. From our first chat, I could see how much thought they were putting into every detail of their day, and I was excited to help make it all come together.
The Process: From Tie to Theme
It all started at the Unwedding Show in London, where William spotted and purchased my ‘Spring Print’ silk tie in a black and green floral print to wear for a christening. That tie went on quite a journey (India, Namibia, and the UK!) before inspiring the wedding accessories.
William loved the print so much he came back to me and asked if I could use the ‘Spring Print’ and create bespoke colourways for his wedding accessories.
- A maroon and pink bow tie for himself (to complement his green suit)
- A green bow tie for the best men
- A matching children’s bow tie
I created bespoke colour ways that matched their colour scheme. With William wanting a different colour to his groomsmen.
I also created scrunchies as gifts for the wedding party, blending practicality with style. The accessories tied beautifully into their colour scheme of emerald green, aubergine, and dusty pink. Andrea’s bouquet even incorporated similar shades, which brought everything together seamlessly.
The Wedding Day: Subtle Coordination
The wedding took place on July 24, 2024, at Most Holy Trinity Church Bermondsey, followed by a reception at Trinity Buoy Wharf. Seeing how the accessories complemented the overall look of the day was such a rewarding moment. From the vibrant bow ties to the carefully chosen scrunchie gifts, everything added a personal, polished touch without being overwhelming.
Advice for couples planning a wedding?
William suggests, “Follow your heart and don’t listen too much to other people.” Andrea’s tip? “Romanticise the planning because you’ll miss it when it’s over (and definitely get the videographer!).”
Favourite moment from the day?
William loved the confetti moment, while Andrea cherished a quiet ride in their white London taxi between venues.
Review: Unwedding Gem !
“We met Kerri at the Unwedding Show and bought a tie for a Christening. The tie got so many compliments we decided to go with a set of adults’ and children’s bow ties and hair bands for our wedding. Kerri consulted with us on colours and options to work up a scheme of patterns and complementary colours to suit our scheme, which looked amazing on the day. 10/10 recommendation.”
Thank you so much William and Andrea for choosing me to be part of your very special day. I love the print you chose and it was a pleasure working with you.
Sustainability is really important to me and as always, the accessories and gifts I created for William and Andrea were designed to have a lifespan long beyond the wedding day as they can be worn again and again. I digitally print all my fabrics, only printing what I need, and I use every last bit of fabric so there is zero waste in my production process. I use natural and recycled fabric and print using eco inks. All the accessories were presented in recycled gift boxes and made in the UK.
If you’d like to commission me to produce a bespoke design which is truly unique to you for your special day, or would like to adapt one of my existing prints in a way that suits you, just get in touch for a chat today. I’d love to hear from you.
